DAY 1: NAIROBI
We will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel where you can check in and relax.
DAY 2: LAKE NAIVASHA
After breakfast, we will drive towards Lake Naivasha. On the way, you’ll see picturesque views of the Great Rift Valley. We’ll arrive at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort in time for lunch. After a walk around the camp, you can take a boat ride around the lake to see the hippos and the birds that reside there.
DAY 3: HELL’S GATE AND LAKE NAKURU
Hell’s Gate National Park is the only park in Kenya where you can view wildlife while on foot. We’ll take advantage of that with a day-long hike through the stunning scenery. Ambitious climbers can start with Fischer’s Tower while everyone else can continue on to the Gorges to see the hot water springs that are a common feature in this park. If we have time, we’ll visit the Masai people who live on the edge of this park. In the evening, we’ll reach Lion’s Hill Lodge, situated on the floor of the Great Rift Valley inside Lake Nakuru, for dinner.
DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU
In the morning, take a walk around the lake to see the stunning pink flamingoes before heading to Nanyuki for lunch. After lunch, we’ll get a briefing and a gear check before tomorrow’s great adventure.
DAY 5: MT KENYA
From the hotel, it is around 15 km to the Sirimon park gate (2,700 m). We’ll eat a picnic lunch before we start an acclimatization hike through the tropical forest, occasionally enjoying the sighting of a monkey, a buffalo, or even an elephant. We’ll arrive at camp (3,200 m) in the late evening.
DAY 6: MT KENYA
After breakfast, we start the hike of the moorland vegetation, taking in the picturesque views of the Sirimon and the Mackinders valleys. We’ll arrive at Likki North Hut in the early afternoon and have lunch before we take another acclimatization walk around the camp.
DAY 7: MT KENYA
We’ll start our hike up the steep slope towards Shipton’s camp (4,200 m), arriving in time for lunch. The giant groundsels along this route are some of the most spectacular views on Mt Kenya. In the afternoon, we’ll walk to the Kami Hut and get back to the camp for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: MT KENYA
After breakfast, we’ll make a peak-circuit navigation to Austrian Hut (4,790 m), enjoying the views of the Simba col and the Lewis glacier. We’ll eat a hot lunch at the top and then spend the afternoon resting and relaxing.

We’ll wake up very early to start our attempt on the summit peak (Point Lenana, alt 4,985 m) — the highlight of our trip!
